How to sync Fitbit to Android

The following steps are how to sync the Fitbit device to an Android.

  1. Download the Fitbit app from the play store.
  2. Go into your android device settings.
  3. Locate apps and notifications in settings, click it, and enter apps.
  4. Scroll till you see the Fitbit app, Click permissions and turn on all the sliders to get notifications on the Fitbit device.
  5. Go back to apps and notifications in settings and enter notification management.
  6. Look for the Fitbit app and turn on the “allow notification” slider. 
  7. After that, go back to the main setting and go to the battery settings.
  8. In battery, click launch and locate the Fitbit app.
  9. Click the Fitbit app and change the setting from manage automatically to manage manually, leaving auto-launch, secondary launch, and run in background sliders on. PS: This feature isn’t in all android versions.
  10. After this, turn on your phone’s Bluetooth and launch the app. 
  11. Create an account if you don’t have one by fill-in your details and select the Fitbit device you’re setting up. If you do have an account, log in.
  12. Plug the Fitbit device into a power supply; it should display. 
  13. Turn on your android Bluetooth and pair it with your Fitbit device.
  14. Suppose it’s your first time pairing your Fitbit device, you’ll get a 4-digit code notification on the device that will be used to connect it to the app. 
  15. Moreover, if it’s not the first time pairing, the Fitbit device should sync automatically. If it doesn’t sync, locate devices in the app, and select your Fitbit device.
  16. Once in your Fitbit device, turn on the “All-day sync slider,” then click “sync now” it should sync.
  17. Also, don’t forget to enable notifications in the app for the Fitbit device you synced. 

How to sync Fitbit to iPhone 

The following steps are how to sync the Fitbit device to an iPhone.

  1. Download the Fitbit app from the App store.
  2. Launch the app.
  3. Create an account if you don’t have one by selecting the Fitbit device you’re setting up and fill in your details. If you do have an account, log in.
  4. Plug your Fitbit device into a power source; it should turn on.
  5. Go into your iPhone settings and turn on Bluetooth.
  6. Select your Fitbit device when it appears in the Bluetooth catalog and pair it with your iPhone. 
  7. Provided that it’s your first time pairing your Fitbit device, you’ll get a 4-digit code notification on the device that will be used to connect it to the app. 
  8. If it’s not the first time pairing, the Fitbit device should sync automatically. If it doesn’t sync, go to the app’s account section and select your Fitbit device.
  9. Once in your Fitbit device, turn on the “All-day sync slider,” then click “sync now” it should sync.
  10. Also, don’t forget to enable notifications in the app for the Fitbit device you synced. 

How to sync Fitbit to a Computer

The following steps are how to sync any Fitbit device to a computer, either Mac or Windows. Note, you’ll need a wireless dongle. 

  1. Open a browser on your computer and go to https://www.fitbit.com/uk/setup
  2. After that, scroll down and look for “download for windows” or “download for mac” and click.
  3. Once downloaded, open the package and install “Fitbit connect.”
  4. Once installed, the software will launch with two options. You can either click “set up a new Fitbit device” or ‘sync now.” 
  5. Suppose it’s the first time, go ahead and click “set up a new Fitbit device.”
  6. It will proceed to a new screen that displays two options, “New to Fitbit” and “Existing User.” So if you are new to Fitbit, click the first option, and sign up. If you aren’t new, log into your account.    
  7. After successfully accessing your account, select your Fitbit device.
  8.  The software will require you to plug in your device to the PC.
  9. Plug the Fitbit USB cord to your PC and your device, and plug in the wireless dongle. 
  10. The software will locate your Fitbit device and send a 4-digit notification to it for syncing. 
  11. Input the digits in the software, and your Fitbit device should sync properly.
  12. Once successfully synced, If the dongle is plugged in, your Fitbit device will connect whenever it’s 20ft close to your PC.
  13. Complete the remaining process, and you should be all set up.
